Cathay opens up Wi-Fi, IFE across fleet

AAV_BulletinCathay Pacific announced that from August 2025 it will be one of the very few airlines to offer both 100% seatback inflight entertainment and 100% high-speed inflight connectivity across its fleet. Customers travelling on Cathay Pacific flights will be able to enjoy the airline’s state-of-the-art IFE system and high-speed Wi-Fi in every cabin on every route, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in customer experience and design, and its aspiration to become the world’s best premium airline.

Since introducing seatback IFE for the first time in 1992, Cathay Pacific has continuously invested in inflight digital innovations to enhance the customer experience. The airline’s commitment to excellence was further solidified this year when it introduced 4K HDR, offering 4K ultra-high-definition screens and a broader colour range inflight to create a more immersive, enjoyable and intuitive viewing experience.

Cathay Pacific customers can enjoy a tailored and world-class experience featuring a carefully curated IFE library with exclusive branded content. Furthermore, those travelling in First or Business class, as well as Cathay Diamond members, can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi services on Cathay Pacific’s flights.

The airline has been honoured with various prestigious accolades for its innovative IFE system, including recently being named a Gold winner in the “Excellent Communications Design – Interactive User Experience” category of the German Design Award and a winner of the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design – User Interface Design.
