“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help make Queensland an even more attractive destination for travellers from across Australia and around the globe, ensuring they experience the unparalleled beauty, culture, and hospitality that our state has to offer. The coming decade is about making Queensland renowned the world over and growing one of our most important and sustainable industries to deliver more jobs for people across the state. Queensland is unique in that it is the only state with four international airports, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Cairns, and I will be a voice to deliver more visitors across the entire state. Very soon, American Airlines will launch a new service from Dallas, and Delta Air Lines will begin flights from Los Angeles. These additions will provide a significant boost to tourism and exports across the state.”

De Graaff previously had executive roles with Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam and Stockholm-Arlanda Airport in Sweden before he first joined Brisbane Airport in 2007. He later worked at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, as well as in South America. He returned to Brisbane Airport in 2018 to take up the role as CEO of Brisbane Airport. His current appointments include the position of Director on the Airports Council International Asia-Pacific Regional Board and Director on the Australian Airports Association Board. De Graaff represents all Australian Airports on the Commonwealth Government’s Jet Zero Council in its quest to reduce carbon emissions in the airline industry.
