AAV BulletinBoeing and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) will explore initiatives to further enhance the efficiency of the country’s national air traffic management system. Improving airport and flight operations can help increase the safety and sustainability of Malaysia’s aviation system through more efficient movement of aircraft and reduced fuel use.

The Letter of Intent, signed at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2023 pairs Boeing’s engineering expertise with the Malaysian government’s strategic planning for its air traffic management system.

As the sole technical aviation safety regulator and air navigation service provider, CAAM believes through this collaboration it will significantly benefit stakeholders through the increase of capacity that will accommodate more flights and attract more airlines and in return, support the growth of the aviation industry in Malaysia.

Boeing’s investments in Malaysia have helped grow the local aerospace sector, creating jobs and driving innovation. Boeing has two offices in Kuala Lumpur. Boeing’s joint venture in Kedah, Aerospace Composites Malaysia, is a leader in composite products and subassemblies for the aerospace industry, including building components for Boeing airplanes. As a leading global aerospace company, Boeing develops, manufactures and services commercial airplanes, defence products and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries.
