BOC Aviation orders 80 737s
BOC Aviation has ordered 80 Boeing 737 aircraft for delivery from 2016 to 2021, as well as two 777-300ERs. The order, the largest in the lessor’s history, includes 50 737 MAX 8 and 30 737-800s. The two 777-300ER aircraft have already been placed with an existing customer.
“Following the successful placement of the 50 737NG aircraft that we ordered in 2006, this is a continuation of our commitment to be responsive to airline customers which are expanding or replacing older fleets,” said Robert Martin, BOC Aviation’s managing director and CEO. “The 737 is known for its operational and fuel efficiency, and BOC Aviation expects healthy demand for the Next Generation 737 and 737 MAX in the next seven years.”

BOC Aviation has selected the LEAP-1B engine to power the 50 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, as well as 60 CFM56-7BE engines to power 30 additional Boeing Next-Generation 737s. CFM values the total engine order at US$2 billion U.S. at list price.
CFM joint owner GE Aviation also provides the GE90-115B engine for the 777-300ER aircraft. The BOC Aviation engine order is valued at close to US$140 million list price.
