SR Technics introduces remote table inspection for engines: SR Technics announced that table inspections at its engine shop in Zurich are now also offered remotely. The new service, which relies on a video streaming portal, can be selected for any engine type or shop visit. Remote Table Inspections (RTIs) at SR Technics help to minimise waiting times, significantly reduce travel costs and process time and eliminate bottlenecks. In addition, the flow of engine materials is not affected by an RTI, since items do not need to be blocked as with a physical table inspection. Besides optimizing material flow and streamlining the inspection process, all results are documented and made available to the customer in real time.

Etihad partners with Sitata on COVID-19 map: Etihad Airways has partnered with Sitata, a Canadian travel risk management company, to launch an interactive travel map giving a comprehensive overview of the situation relating to COVID-19 at each destination in the airline’s network. The travel map uses advanced computer algorithms to detect new travel information globally, which is updated on its portal. The system also relies on announcements and updates published on official government websites and reputable media channels. The information is vetted by Sitata’s team of editors and continuously updated as and when new information is made available. This provides Etihad‘s guests with a source of easily accessible information to make more informed travel plans. The map provides important information that can impact travel arrangements including border restrictions, curfew timings, mandatory precautionary measures, quarantine rules, airport and flight operations, and the number of current active COVID-19 cases in each destination. Guests can access the travel map on etihad.com under the destination guidelines section of the website.

Magnetic MRO completes ATR programme for Finnair: Magnetic MRO announced the recent successful completion of ATR program for Finland flag carrier, Finnair. The contract for complete paint work, full interior refurbishment and maintenance on all 12 of the airline’s ATR 72 fleet operated for Finnair by its partner company Norra was signed in spring 2019 and the first aircraft was delivered from Magnetic MRO’s Tallinn hangars to the customer in 2019. The agreement included painting 11 of the ATR aircraft into the Finnair livery. In addition to the new livery, the aircraft will receive full interior refurbishment. Air New Zealand limits capacity on inbound international services: Air New Zealand has put a hold on new bookings on international services into New Zealand following a request from the New Zealand government. The move is to help ensure the country is able to provide quarantine accommodation for inbound passengers for the required 14-day period. As well as the temporary hold on new bookings for the next three weeks, the airline is also looking at aligning daily arrivals with the capacity available at managed isolation facilities. This may mean some customers will need to be moved to another flight. Outbound Air New Zealand services from New Zealand to international ports are not affected by the New Zealand government restrictions. Domestic services are not impacted.

China Airlines adjusts services: China Airlines is preparing for the post-quarantine period by continuing to adhere to the regulations issued by Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center and making “quarantine prevention” its overriding priority. Basic beverage services (such as beer or fruit juice) will also be available on demand when appropriate. “Sandwich box” will continue to be provided for flights of three hours or less.
