Aviation Festival  www.terrapinn.com/AFA25/AsianAviation Australia’s Flight Options has announced a major expansion programme with the acquisition of a Mechtronix Ascent Airbus A320 FSTD. This latest addition will be located in Flight Options’ training complex on the Sunshine Coast Airport, Queensland, which currently supports a Level D Beechcraft King Air B200/BE350i simulator. The A320 sim is expected to be in service in early 2025. Following the recent sale of its Cessna Citation Mustang FSD overseas, Flight Options will utilise this now vacant bay to accommodate the new device.

In conjunction with this acquisition, Flight Options is planning for the construction of two more bays to support the location of additional simulators currently under consideration. This expansion will enhance the company’s training capabilities, allowing Flight Options to remain at the forefront of advanced training activity in the country.

Originally constructed as a result of a contractual agreement with the Singapore Flying College (a division of Singapore Airlines), the Flight Options complex is now one of the largest privately-owned advanced simulation facilities in the Southern Hemisphere. The company offers comprehensive training courses covering various equipment types, including the King Air, and serves a diverse client base spanning Australasia, Southeast Asia, and beyond.

Steve Padgett OAM, Founder and Managing Director of Flight Options, commented on the expansion: “This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for Flight Options. By investing in additional simulators and expanding our training complex, we’re reinforcing our commitment to delivering exceptional pilot training that meets the highest standards.”

The new simulator will allow Flight Options to continue to meet the demand for specialised pilot training and with this expansion, Flight Options is positioned to set a new benchmark in aviation delivering unparalleled expertise and standards to pilots and airlines throughout the region.
