AJW Aviation gets CAAC nod
UK-based AJW Aviation said its Canadian unit, AJW Technique, has been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) for component maintenance and sales in China to airlines and third-parties, which will allow the company to bulk up its inventory in what is a new market for the company. AJW officials said the approval means customers and potential customers can now use AJW Technique as a single source for many components instead of dealing with multiple vendors.
The company already has two Power-by-the-Hour customers in China and it expects the certification to allow it to add additional value to its US$500 million in total group inventory. The company said it has now identified “key locations to hold this stock for use by our growing customer network” and said its “front of house repair management and customer service aspects are maintained out of offices in China and Singapore to ensure rapid responses are given”. The move may also open up opportunities for joint ventures with regional MROs.
