RECARO Aircraft Seating unveils eVTOL seat: At the 2025 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, RECARO Aircraft Seating (RECARO) showcased its eVTOL seating solution for the first time. Pioneering in the electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft sector, RECARO presents its ingenious eVTOL seating solution together with the Embraer spin-off Eve Air Mobility. Utilising lightweight materials, such as high-grade aluminum, titanium, and composite materials, the seat maintains minimal weight, enabling energy-efficient flight operations. “Eve Air Mobility and RECARO combined their expertise to develop lightweight, ergonomic seating that can support the distinct needs of eVTOL flights. The urban air mobility industry introduces a new range of engineering challenges, including seating,” said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve. “This means aligning with partners who embrace reengineering aircraft from the ground up. Through our collaboration with RECARO, we’ve found new and inventive ways to make aircraft seating light enough for electric urban flights without sacrificing the in-cabin experience.” “The success of a project like this is only possible when there is a strong collaboration, just as there is between RECARO and Eve Air Mobility,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding. “Seating for eVTOL aircraft fits perfectly with the capabilities and strengths of RECARO when it comes to lightweight design, superior quality, and outstanding ergonomics. This marks a very exciting moment at AIX 2025.”

Satair and Airbus Atlantic extend spares distribution agreement: Satair, an Airbus Services company, and Airbus Atlantic, a global leader in aerostructures, pilot seats, and premium passenger seats – distributed under STELIA Aerospace trademark – have signed a renewed spares distribution agreement at Aircraft Interiors Expo. Under this extended agreement, Satair will continue as the exclusive distributor in the Middle East for spare parts for the pilot seats and the STELIA Aerospace premium passenger seats. This partnership strengthens operators’ access to world-class aftermarket services, ensuring efficient support for these critical cabin and cockpit applications. This renewal builds upon a strong foundation established between Satair and Airbus Atlantic since 2008 in the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership was successfully expanded to the Middle East in 2021, and with this latest extension, the collaboration will continue for another three years, ensuring regional operators benefit from an optimised supply chain and enhanced service capabilities. Thierry Kanengieser, VP Cabin Interior at Airbus Atlantic, added: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Satair, reinforcing our commitment to delivering premium aftermarket support to our customers. Our collaboration with Satair has proven highly valuable in ensuring operators receive timely and efficient access to our spare parts, and we look forward to further strengthening our presence in the Middle East market.”
Mirus Aircraft Seating to launch its new recline Economy seat: Mirus Aircraft Seating will launch its highly anticipated new recline economy seat, Hawk Duo, at Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg. Designed to meet the most demanding needs of the single-aisle economy cabin world, Hawk Duo offers exceptional levels of passenger comfort and living space. With sustainable design at its core, Hawk Duo is more than 20% lighter than its predecessor, reducing the cost of ownership and ongoing maintenance through its life cycle. Designed to address the highly competitive mainstream single aisle economy seat market, Hawk Duo immediately sets the new standard for passenger living space and comfort and offers benchmark weight of less than 8.5kg/PAX without compromising performance or robustness. Ideal for mainline Airbus and Boeing single aisle operators operating full recline economy cabins, or as a more premium offering when paired with its stand-out Kestrel fixed recline seat, Hawk Duo will be certified later this year for first deliveries in Q1 2026. With the Mirus signature design DNA, the sculpted seating surfaces have undergone rigorous design, pressure mapping and testing procedures. The slimline armrests maximise seat width and space, and a generous 5” mechanical recline all combine to provide one of the most comfortable seats available. Optional features available to address the needs of the most brand conscious of airlines include power/USB integration, PED holders, various comfort foam and headrest options, and the ability to customise the colour, material and design of dress covers.
