Airbus and Lion Group team up for training

Airbus and Lion Group have signed a training services agreement to develop flight-training programmes for the latter’s Airbus aircraft.

The deal will see Airbus providing syllabi, training documentation, tools and courseware with the group’s training programme being certified by EASA as well as the manufacturer.

The first of Lion’s 234 A320s will arrive in July, and will operate in the Group’s Batik Air division. The first of four A320 simulators will arrive this month.

Airbus has been looking to expand its pilot training activities. A similar deal is expected for the Group’s Boeing 737 fleet with Boeing Flight Services.
