ACI Asia-Pacific elects new board members at virtual regional assembly

ACI Asia-PacificAirports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific has named new officers, directors and special advisors to its regional board during its first-ever virtual regional assembly. The regional board governs the overall development strategy of ACI Asia-Pacific and comprises aviation business leaders from across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region. The annual regional assembly evolved to a virtual event following the cancellation of the 15th ACI Asia-Pacific Regional Assembly, Conference & Exhibition as a result of the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic on air travel.

The new board officers elected for a two-year period are:

  • Ali Salim al Midfa, chairman, Sharjah Airport Authority, UAE (second vice president)
  • SGK Kishore, executive director, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd., India (second vice president)

Elected for a second term of two years as board officers are:

  • Sheikh Aimen bin Ahmed al Hosni, CEO, Oman Airports Management Company, Oman (secretary-treasurer)
  • Seow Hiang Lee, CEO, Changi Airport Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Singapore (president)
  • Emmanuel Menanteau, board member, Cambodia Airports, Cambodia (first vice president)

The new board directors elected for a three-year period are:

  • Kjeld Binger, permanent senior advisor to the board of directors, Airport International Group, Jordan
  • Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO, Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited, Australia
  • Faiz Jhan, CEO, Fiji Airports, Fiji
  • Bon Hwan Koo, president and CEO, Incheon International Airport Corporation, Korea
  • Fred Lam, CEO, Airport Authority Hong Kong, Hong Kong
  • Qin Yun, chairman of the board, Shanghai Airport Authority, China
  • Jean-Michel Ratron, CEO, Aeroport de Tahiti, French Polynesia
  • Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, president, Airports of Thailand Public Co. Ltd, Thailand
  • Chang Wan Son, CEO, Korea Airports Corporation, Korea
  • Yoshiyuki Yamaya, representative director and CEO, Kansai Airports, Japan

Appointed by the regional board, the new special advisors are:

  • Suleiman al Bassam, executive vice president, General Authority of Civil Aviation, Saudi Arabia
  • Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO, Delhi International Airport Ltd, India
  • Xue Song Liu, Chairman, Beijing Capital International Airport Co., Ltd, China
