The solution covers the complete process and will help Neos to optimise their crew management at a time when the airline’s fleet is growing from 16 to 20 aircraft. NetLine/Crew supports Neos in automating their crew management process and will be operated in the Global Aviation Cloud. That makes it easier to scale to future growth, and to adapt to dynamic business requirements more efficiently. Crew management is a complex process that includes pairing, assignment, and crew control. The availability of crew resources, their training requirements, and the fair distribution of duties, wishes, and preferences must be reconciled with network needs, operational and legal regulations, economic requirements, and logistical aspects. NetLine/Crew covers all these issues with 24/7 operations, support, and unique industry experience, helping airlines to reduce costs, improve crew productivity, and manage planning challenges as well as short-term operational challenges.

KansasSabre signs distribution agreement with Delta: Sabre has finalised a multi-year renewal of its distribution agreement with Delta Air Lines. The long-term agreement enables Sabre-connected travel agents to access both traditional EDIFACT and New Distribution Capability (NDC) content, enhancing their ability to provide comprehensive travel offers to their customers. Earlier this year, Delta announced details of its selling and servicing transformation, which includes NDC. Sabre and the airline will collaborate on the integration of NDC content into Sabre’s travel marketplace to support this strategy. The renewed agreement underscores a shared commitment to the third-party distribution ecosystem and collaborative retail innovation. Regardless of technology, Sabre-connected agencies can offer a rich array of travel choices, which will evolve to include additional price points and omnichannel servicing.

News in brief on Signature Aviation Neos Lufthansa Systems CPaT Euroavia Airlines Sabre Delta Air Lines AirbusAirbus ships third European Service Module: Orion’s third European Service Module (ESM-3) is leaving Airbus’ facilities in Bremen, Germany, and heading to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, where it will be assembled and tested with the Crew Module. This third mission of NASA’s Artemis programme will mark the first human return to the lunar surface since Apollo 17 in 1972. ESM-3, built by Airbus under contract to the European Space Agency (ESA), will play a critical role in supporting four astronauts during their three-week mission aboard the Orion spacecraft: from the moment they leave Earth, their journey into lunar orbit, docking with the lunar landing system Starship HLS, and their safe return to Earth. Space is an incredibly harsh environment with temperatures dipping as low as -200°C. To keep the astronauts safe and comfortable Airbus has developed comprehensive thermal energy control systems to keep the crew module between 18 and 24°C by radiating excess heat out of the ship but also keeping the cold at bay. In addition, the ESM provides essential elements to the astronauts during their trip to and from the Moon, “NASA asked us to create a standard atmosphere similar to Earth, which means we have to add nitrogen to the cabin. The ESM carries 90 kilograms of oxygen and 30 kilogrammes of nitrogen. We also use the nitrogen to pump drinking water from the 240-litre tank for the astronauts,” said Zimmermann.
